Enjoy the exhilarating sport of Indoor Rock Climbing and challenge yourself at the Sanctuary Rock Gym in Sand City, California. The gym welcomes all ages, so bring your friends or family and test your strength, balance, and grace. No matter the skill level, there is a climb for you.
In 1996, Sanctuary Rock Gym owner/founder Spike wanted a place to climb cliffs, so he decided to create some of his own. Sanctuary Rock Gym consists of 6,000 square feet of custom-sculpted climbing surface. If you reach the top, you can climb up to 30 feet. You have 16 top ropes to choose from, with 3 auto-belays for those days you want to climb on your own. Even do some lead climbing through the Giant Arch or head to the Bouldering area to test your skills with no ropes attached. If that is not enough, Sanctuary Rock Gym offers a Traverse Wall, Assault Ladder, Bachar Ladder, and more.
Sanctuary Rock Gym is open 7 days a week (may be closed on holidays), so you can climb no matter the day. The rock gym opens at 2:00 p.m. and closes at 10:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. There is even more time to climb on the weekends as the gym is open from 10:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. on both Saturday and Sunday.
You can either climb for just the day or become a member if you know you will be coming back for more. Becoming a member comes with its benefits. You save money in the long-run, receive discounts on merchandise and equipment, and get invited to different special events.
Grab your bags because it is time to head over to Sanctuary Rock Gym down by the bay.
